Habits of a High Performing Team

A high performing team is one that has clear goals and knows how to execute them together.

Our team is not large and like members of a small rowing crew, there is no room for passengers.  Truly great teams are ones that trust each other and help each other to improve and thrive at work. The best teams are made up of members who pay attention to the following qualities:

  • Ownership

  • Good time management

  • Accountability

  • Shared responsibility

Meetings

A high performing team, for example, arrives to work promptly and with a good attitude. They set up their space and prepare their day, ready to go.  During meetings they give overview of their objectives and listen intently to the other team members as to where they may be able to assist each other, where needed. A goal or focus for the day/week is established and they leave the meeting informed, inspired and ready.

Throughout the day the team is responsible for the general upkeep of the business, as well as the client experience.  All successes should be celebrated no matter how small and all challenges are to be shouldered between everyone. Support is always available company wide and it is your duty to seek it when needed.
